Experts from Mercedes-Benz, M&S and Greggs are set to take centre stage at an event that aims to help create the biggest internal communications (IC) network in the North.

IoIC (Institute of Internal Communication) Better Connected 2017 on June 15 will bring together IC professionals from all over the region, including Manchester, Newcastle, York and Hull.

It was great to see the Leeds event recently featured in The Yorkshire Post’s Business section.

In its second year, key industry speakers will include:

  • Katherine Simpkins, Internal Communications Manager, Mercedes-Benz, UK
  • Roland Burton, Senior Employee Communications Manager at M&S
  • Vanessa Unwin, Head of Internal Communications at Hitachi Rail
  • Sean Costello, Media and Communications for the Army
  • Roisin Currie, Group People Director at Greggs PLC
  • Jennie Flower, Minerva Engagement
  • Susan Walker, expert in communication and engagement research

Plus new speakers Andrew Harvey, Executive Director, UK, and Sarah Hakewill, Senior Consultant – both from VMA Group.

Attendees can take part in workshops at the one-day event, which will explore the latest employee engagement issues and trends.

Our director Andy Douse, who’s helping to organise the event, said: “As well as being informative and engaging, delegates will get the chance to network and connect with IoIC members and non-members from Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, York, Hull and Newcastle.”

“There are lots of comms professionals working in these cities and we want to support them in their roles through the sharing of experiences, information and good practice, and by creating a bigger and more effective IC community in the North.”

Better Connected will take place at The Studio, a vibrant 8th floor venue situated in the heart of Leeds, close to all major transport links.

Tickets cost £115 (plus VAT) for IoIC Members or £125 plus VAT for non-members, including lunch and refreshments.
